A Little Sweet, A Little Salty

There are certain combinations of flavors that are just irresistible.
bittersweet, sour and sweet,  sweet and salty
In my humble (but accurate) opinion, sweet and salty always comes out on top.

I mean, let's just be honest. Who does not like salted caramels? Or chocolate covered peanuts, raisins, and almonds? Or what about kettle corn? Or rocky road ice cream?

It just makes sense. Sweet and salty desserts are one of those little wonders that make the world go round. Biting into a deliciously rich chocolate truffle with a hint of sea salt just feels right. It's one of my happy places..

But, before my mouth starts watering, I should probably get on with my next installment of Baking with Becca!

I had a Valentines Party the other night (and yes, I do think the "holiday" is absolutely ridiculous HOWEVER it gives me a reason to BAKE) and I wanted to make something snacky...you know...one of those desserts that isn't too heavy or too light...a munchy of sorts.

So, I decided to make White Chocolate Dipped Pretzels

They are super easy and a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients:
1 Pkg White Chocolate or Vanilla flavored candy coating (I used Almond Bark)
1 Pkg Pretzel Rods
SPRINKLES!

And of course...wine!

Process:
Melt the Candy Coating (I originally tried to melt in a saucepan over the stove...but it started to burn so I just melted it in the microwave and it worked fine!)

Then, dip the pretzel rods into the candy coating and place them on a sheet of parchment paper

Add whatever color sprinkles you want and you're done!

See! Wasn't that so easy! You could also drizzle chocolate candy coating on top or dip them in chocolate and drizzle with white! There are endless possibilities in the world of sweet and salty...

And so concludes another entry of Baking with Becca!
